I'd like to suggest expanding the syntax of the "Range to Process" to include something such as this: 1-100x10, which would render 1, 11, 21,...91. It's a fairly common way to specify rendering every Nth frame, I've seen this syntax used by several programs in my travels. (Eg. Nuke uses it as a command line param).
It doesn't sound like it would be tough to implement, and it seems like it should fit nicely within your architecture as it's possible to just get this effect by giving a list of frames to Smedge as "1,11,21,31,...91".
I have python code written already that expands such a syntax (not complicated code of course), and I've tested it fairly extensively if you want it. Just let me know Robin and I'll give it to you.
