Just a little comment to SmedgeGui
Creator column should contain also a name of machine the job was submited from. We are not using different users environment in our company and using just one user for all the machines we are working on.
It would be nice to have something like user@render001 in this column
thank you

It seems I should RTFM first.
thank you :)
but in case of 50 machines it is a pain to fill this by hand.

C:\Documents and Settings\****\Application Data\Uberware\SmedgeGui\SmedgeGui.ini
[ Configuration ]
Creator = maxtest
you can batch it somehow like :
ping Creator = %computername% >c:\name.txt
creat:
part1.txt (includ default gui ini top part until string "crator = X ")
part2.txt (rest of the ini AFTER string "creator = X"
run:
copy part1.txt+name.txt+part2.txt c:\SmedgeGui.ini
i dont remember the exact cmd but you can copy several txt file together
top part ini
your string from name.txt
rest of the ini
result is the default.ini if you get me

I want to add the $(Name) substitution system to this, so you could just set the name to $(MachineName) on all nodes if you wanted. It would still be tedious to do this for 50 machines. Maybe I can add a Master option that sets whether the default user is one of:
1. User account
2. Machine name
3. User@machine
Then you would only have to change the master option, and the default blank value would be interpreted differently.
What do you think?

Hi Robin,
I'm just trying to make this work in new 2010.1 smedge. I have changed default creator string to User@Machine under Master Options but it has no effect. All jobs are displaying anything I put in SmedgeGui options but not the desired What am I doing wrong please?

This chang will only affect future jobs created after you make the change. Also makesure that the setting is preserved in the master settings. If it continues not to work correctly, please send the log files from your master and from the GUI you are using to create the jobs.
Also, I just realized that the submit command line shell is not respecting this change. I will fix that and update it as well.
