My question:
Is it possibly to start a job later, so that i can create it and automatically start the job in the night when no one is working on the machines?
That would be an useful feature.

Having the ability to start a job in the future is a pending feature request. However, you can accomplish something similar by using the Engine time restrictions. Set your Engines so that they are not available during the day, when your artists are working on the machines, and become available in the evening, when everyone goes home. Then the jobs will just stay queued until the machine is available.
You can also do it manually by enabling the machines at night, or using the log-off process to enable a machine (as long as the SmedgeEngine component is running as a service/daemon on the machine).
