Hi,

I would like to have the option to install Smedge manually, just like the betas. For me this normally works best and is the easiest way.
So I would love to see this as option for the upcoming Smedge.

best,
Walli

I have a set of tools I will be posting that can make it easy to install Smedge as a Master or an Engine Service automatically. I am putting finishing touches on them and will post an update when they are ready to download.

You can download the installation tools here:

http://www.uberware.net/download.php?download=47

To use:

Unpack the archive anywhere you wish

To install the Master:
Drag the SmedgeMaster.exe program file onto the InstallSmedgeMaster.bat script.

To install the Engine:
Drag the SmedgeEngine.exe program file onto the InstallSmedgeEngine.bat script.

Note:
The default options for the Engine installation will attempt to create a local user account on the machine named "Smedge" (with the password "Smedge") to run the Engine (the Master uses a default system account). If you wish to use a different user account, you can, by following these steps:

  1. Open a Command Prompt window
  2. Type:
    path-to-scripts\InstallSmedgeEngine.bat path-to-smedge\SmedgeEngine.exe user-account password

By the way, when you use the installer to install Smedge, if you choose a "Workstation" installation type, it does not do anything but unpack the files. This is basically the same as a "manual" installation from a ZIP archive file, as if it were a self-extracting archive.
