Maya renders a frame successfully, Smedge says it was unsuccessful anyway

Hey,
I'm having an issue where, occasionally, Smedge will declare a render as "unsuccessful", stating that "Process returned an unsuccessful exit code: 1".
However, when I examine the process output, I can't find any evidence of an unsuccessful render. In fact, when this happens, it turns out that the frames that were supposed to be rendered actually rendered successfully. Any ideas on why this happens?
Edit: I'm using Maya 2015 Mental Ray rendering.

Hi
In a situation like this, it is actually Maya that is reporting the error (via the process exit code). Smedge doesn't know that the error is non-fatal, so it reports the error and you have failed work even though your frames rendered.
To work around this, you can tell Smedge not to check the process exit code for the job. You can do this on the Advanced Info tab of the job. Set the "Check process exit code" field to "no".
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you,
