We just upgraded to Maya 2016 and are running Smedge 2015. Our Maya renders now give us the error,

"Error: setAttr: Cannot set the attribute 'mentalrayGlobals.renderVerbosity' past its maximum value of 6."

Hi

There seems to be an issue with the verbosity setting in mental ray for Maya in Smedge. I'm working to resolve this, but in the man time, if you disable error text detection, it should allow the render through. I'm sorry for the inconvenience. As soon as I figure out what is going on, I will put an updated build out.

I have an update that fixes the "verbosity" issue. The issue was caused by a bug in the GUI that was using human readable labels instead of actual job data values. So instead of a verbosity number it was getting the label that goes with that verbosity, which, of course, mental ray did not understand.

This bug affected only jobs you submitted through the GUI that use a Choice selection for a command line parameter. Jobs without choices in the command line and jobs submitted from a script or job file did not have the problem. With the new version you will need to resubmit your jobs to get them corrected.

Note that there are a few other small fixes in this version, and some small features requested. Mostly the Linux version cleans up some unnecessary scary messages it dumped to the console, and has buttons consistent with the other platforms now. The final release of Update 1 will be in the next week or so, once I resolve one last outstanding issue with 3D Studio Max 2016 on Windows.
