Out of India(previous) up (next) Walk like an Egyptian

Istanbul was Constantinople : 10 September 2004

We made it out of Asia! Though we can still see it from our hotel room...

The bridge between Europe and Asia
We spent five hours in the Frankfurt airport, because we wanted to spend a little time in the western world, even if it was just in an airport. And it was worth every second. Organization, cleanliness, people that weren't trying to scam us or beg from us. Ah, the good life.

Istanbul is a great city, too. It's like other European cities, other than the Arabic chanting that kicks off five times a day. Not that any of the rest of the city seems to care! It's life as usual. The city itself is beautiful and pleasant. The people are a friendly, though there are still some cultural differences with the western Europeans, but nothing like India.

Next up will be a brief trip to Egypt, then we'll finally be back in Western civilization for the long run. We're definitely going to try to see some more of Turykey later on, though, when we can save up some money and see some of the beaches and sights we can't make it to on this stop.

I absolutely love Istanbul. You'll wanna spend so much time in Turkey. Please make sure to go to Pamukkale! It's amazing and there is this fantastic old Turkish bathhouse in Bursa. But you'll have fun exploring. Go see the pyramids our people built. Be safe!
We heart you,
Chris

Well, we did want to spend much more time in Turkey, but we're running out of money, and had to move on. We promised ourselves we'd go back, though, and see much more of it. Probably as a side trip from Greece, when we do that.

We decided to move on with our ticket, so now we're in Egypt. We're planning out a couple stops to Luxor and the Red Sea, and then hightailing it back to Glasgow where we can sleep in a room we don't have to pay for, and save up some money so we may actually be able to see a little of Europe before we come home!

Dude, Turkey is cheap! I'm sure Egypt is too. How're you gonna get money in Glasgow? When are you gonna be there? Enjoy Egypt...I can't wait to hear about it!
