Requirements

Windows
Smedge works on Windows 2000 or later.

Smedge requires the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 SP1 Runtime Package. If you use the MSI installer, the required libraries are included. If you use the ZIP, you may need to install these manually from the Microsoft Web site if you have not before.

Linux
Smedge should run on any Linux running kernel 2.4 or later for the command line system and GTK 2 or later for the GUI on Intel (or compatible) hardware.

For the 32 bit version to run on a 64 bit machine, the 32 bit system runtime shared libraries must be installed. See your distribution documentation for how to install 32 bit system runtime libraries.

The Linux binaries are built on CentOS 4. These binaries have the following dependencies:

CLIGUI
libuuid.so.1
libdl.so.2
libpthread.so.0
libstdc++.so.6
libm.so.6
libc.so.6
libgcc_s.so.1
The CLI dependencies, plus:
libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0
libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0
libatk-1.0.so.0
libdgk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0

libXext.so.6
libpangoft2-1.0.so.0
libICE.so.6
libexpat.so.0
libz.so.1
Note that this version is tested to run on most common Linux flavors. However, it is possible to custom build Smedge on nearly any Linux distribution, including even Linux running on a PlayStation 3. If you have a special distribution that you want to support, please contact Uberware support.

Mac
Smedge is a Universal Binary that will run on OS-X 10.4 or later, on both Intel and PowerPC macs.
In General Smedge is a 32 bit application (except for the Linux 64 bit native build), but it can control 64 bit renderers on 64 bit machines, so there is no loss of render performance.

Smedge requires an active and connected TCP/IP network available.

Contact Uberware Support if you have any problems running Smedge.
