Hey all,

Does Smedge 2018 support Maya's Render Setup instead of legacy? We have a bunch of scenes set up with multiple layers, but when set up in Smedge, each engine renders out every frame sequentially and overwrites itself basically turning our whole farm into one engine. Also the Master Layer in each scene is rendered regardless of whether it's set to renderable or not. Couldn't find any info about using Smedge and Render Setup on the net or in the documentation. Any ideas why Smedge isn't dividing up the work?

Smedge does support the new Maya render setup system. In order to ensure you are not overwriting frames, be sure you have not set up in your render globals to renumber your output frame sequences. If you have to renumber your sequences, there is a parameter in the Smedge job details that allows you to do this in a way that doesn't cause problems like this.

If that does not help, please contact directly. Thank you,

Hey,

Has Maya 2018 Render Setup been implemented yet? Or do you plan to implement it?

Smedge can support the system as-is. If you have any trouble with scenes with a complex render setup, please contact support so we can take a look. Thanks,
