Smedge is in late stages of preparation for the 2012 release. Recently, kinks in the master have been worked out under full production load at scale. Now I am finishing up with last issues in the Engine, and working on a huge performance increase for the GUI to allow it to keep up with the improved Master performance.
The official beta release of Smedge will be ready soon. If you have experienced any issues with your master hanging or crashing, pre-release versions are available that you can use that will improve your situation. You can contact me for more information and specific download links.

Will be possible to run both versions at the same time to make the transition safe for our studio?

thats not possible - the job history is different and jobs from beta manager not load in current manager
so far i can say it the beta yet production ready - just 2 more issues need to be solved by robin (+ tons of features added :-)
