We are very close to the final December 1 release. But I did find a bug in the code that was part of the communication fix in beta 6 that was worthy of making a new public release. The bug can cause excessive CPU usage by Smedge component applications, and a loss of communication.

Windows (only available as a ZIP currently)

Mac

Linux

Beta 9 includes the fix to this issue, as well as some small features added for the final release:

+ SmedgeGui has a toolbar
+ Interrupting work interrupts pre-work event commands, if needed
+ Job command line shell can now list Job History
+ Herald can handle the Work Assigned Event
+ Max Module option to disable creating the local path file when copying the scene locally
+ Maxwell Module detects error text for Maxwell 2
+ ProcessJob error detection can optionally detect error strings anywhere in the line (instead of only at the beginning)

- Possible infinite loop reading message header when connection has closed
- Mirrors are ignoring MasterKillZombieMsg for handling orphaned work getting mirrors out of sync
- Wrong executable path shows up for Engine default in Configure Master dialog
- Master can crash loading default if Job Type is missing
- Reading a Job file with an invalid ID could cause a crash
- Work that fails to start may never get reported back to the Master creating zombie workers

As an update, the Windows zip file did not include the correct service installation scripts. I have updated the zip file now, so if you have any problems getting the services to install on Windows with beta 9, just download the zip file again, then try again, and it should work correctly.

The Windows installer will be coming shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks
